Police Appaloosas Greet President Bush

When President Bush made a recent stop in Hillsborough County, Florida, two Appaloosas were called for duty. Sheriff’s Deputies (and ApHC members) Judy Whaley and Crystal McClelland and their two Appaloosas provided security for the visit, alongside Marines and Secret Service personnel. Secret Service Officers snapped these photos for the Deputies with the President’s helicopter in the background. Rock My Socks and Fancys Moon Shadow were both show horses before they found new work as police mounts. “It shows they can have a great productive life after their show careers,” says Judy, “they are very versatile horses.” Fancys Moon Shadow has points in Pleasure Driving, and Rock My Socks has points in Aged Mares, Hunter-In-Hand and Western Pleasure.

Law Enforcement agencies usually welcome donations of well-trained horses. For more information please contact your local law enforcement agency.
