The Appaloosa Horse Club (ApHC) is proud to announce Callaway,
the 16-year-old singer on the rise to international fame,
will perform Saturday, June 28 in a concert benefiting the
Appaloosa Youth Association (AYA) at the 61st National Appaloosa
Show & 2008 World Championship Appaloosa Youth Show in
Jackson, Miss.
“The ApHC is very excited to collaborate with Callaway on
this project,” said ApHC CEO, Steve Taylor. “We are looking
forward to a great performance while raising much needed funds
for the AYA.”
Though you may not know her name yet, Callaway has been stunning
audiences throughout the globe with her soulful sound. She
has impressed the powers that be in the music industry, which
led to Callaway singing backup for Grammy Award winning soul
artist, Sam Moore.
Moore, impressed by Callaway’s vocal abilities, began moving
her to the forefront of the stage. Callaway sang duets with
Moore, earning the attention of the audience and industry
professionals, including Randy Jackson of “American Idol”.
Callaway’s talent earned her the opportunity to sing “Don’t
Play That Song (You Lied)” with Moore on “The Today Show”
in June 2007. To view the performance, visit www.truveo.com
and search “Sam Moore Today”.
Admission to the concert is $15 with proceeds benefiting the
Appaloosa Youth Association.
Callaway’s performance marks the end of the exciting 2008
World Championship Appaloosa Youth Show, which begins June
23. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster at www.ticketmaster.com
or may be purchased at the Ticketmaster outlet in the Mississippi
Coliseum.
