The Barnes Ranch 2008 Versatility Ranch Horse Skill Building Program is under way

The Barnes Ranch 2008 Versatility Ranch Horse Skill Building Program is under way. The first part - Ranch Riding - is complete. The second part - Ranch Trail - has two practices remaining: June 6 & June 13. The practices are divided into two sessions. See our schedule below for session times, fees, and other dates.

This program is approved by the Rocky Mountain Quarter Horse Association (RMQHA). AQHA rules form the foundation of the clinics and practices. Any association or riding club that would like a similar skill building program developed and/or implemented based on their rules/regs, can contact us at www.barnesranch.com, gjbarnes111@msn.com, or 303-646-9855

Any rider participating in any of the RMQHA VRH events (listed in the RMQHA magazine or website - including any of the skill-building events) will be invited to the Silver Jubilee Invitational Competition on October 4 - 5 at Jefferson County Fairgrounds (Golden). Each rider/horse will be placed in the entry-level, intermediate, or advanced division to compete with other riders of similar skills.

For riders who enjoy the comraderie of being part of a team while learning this multi-skilled event in a step-by-step format, come join one of the RMQHA Entry-Level Teams:

Peak Riders with Gerrie & Jeff Barnes (Central and Southern Colorado) - gjbarnes111@msn.com

Tumbleweeds with Cody Crow (Northern & Western Colorado) - onyxover@aol.com

A little challenge between the teams for the high-scoring team average at the invitational competition includes beer and brownies along with 2008 bragging rights. To be eligible for the teams, either the rider, or the horse, or both can not have competed in the versatility ranch horse event; the rider/horse must attend at least one of the skill-building program events; and by the time of the invitational competition, the rider must be a member of RMQHA. Membership forms are available through the team leader, on the RMQHA website or magazine, or by contacting the office at 303-296-1143.

Check out our updated website at www.barnesranch.com for other events.
