CRESCO, Iowa/Sept. 4, 2008—At the Ohio All American Quarter
Horse Congress, the largest equine event in the nation, Featherlite®
(www.fthr.com) the “Official Trailer” of American Quarter
Horse Association and the Quarter Horse Congress, is rolling
out the “biggest ideas” in the horse trailer industry with
its remarkable new 2009 models. Not all of Featherlite’s Big
Ideas have to do with size, even though one of the trailers
to be on display is an eye-catching giant, measuring over
50-ft. long.
“This not only is the biggest custom horse
trailer allowable on the road—spanning 53-ft. from stem to
stern and 13-ft. 6-inches tall, it will be the most stunning,”
said Randy Lewis, Featherlite national sales manager. “This
trailer will be decked out with over 90 special options—and
that doesn’t even include those in the living quarters.”
This horse trailer model, which will be on
view at the Featherlite outdoor display across the street
from the Quarter Horse Congress Annex building, has massive
luxury living quarters with four slide outs that dramatically
expand the interior space. Behind the owners’ living quarters
is an upper-deck three-horse slant load plus one-horse straight
load configuration. If no horse is transported in the straight-load
stall, there is enough room to garage a golf cart or ATV for
the trip.
The western-style Featherlite Sierra living
quarters is 33-ft. long and has all the amenities of a luxury
condo. Interior features include a slate-finished fireplace,
copper sinks, a breathtaking kitchen and a ceiling adorned
with ostrich saddle leather trayed with silver tin coffers.
Visitors enter this massive trailer with entrance steps of
ceramic tile. Inside they will see custom leather furniture,
hand-scraped old barn hickory floors in 5-inch planks, cedar-lined
closets and a 32-inch flat screen TV that emerges from behind
the mantle with a remote-control power lift. It also has solid
surface countertops and shower and solid maple cabinetry.
Outside the trailer has a self-seeking satellite dish, Girard
awning and custom graphics among many other features.
On the other end of the spectrum, Congress
visitors can see a completely new Featherlite configuration,
“Warm Blood” Model 9407 two-horse bumper pull. This special
straight-load configuration has no mangers and carries its
lowest price point ever.
Need a place to relax between rides? You’ll
want to see the Featherlite “Wii®”-configured trailer.
This 23-ft. double slide has a rear bedroom that doubles as
an entertainment suite. It sports a leather fold-out electric
couch, a wet bar and a Nintendo Wii. You can play friends
and family in the room or online. Want more? There is also
a Wii gaming console outside on the trailer! Visitors can
stop by the booth and sign up for the Wii Tournament during
Congress with prizes awarded to winners.
Dynamic dual-color Featherlite trailers are
finding an intense following after their official introduction
at the 2008 Featherlite International Dealer Meeting. At Congress
Featherlite introduces a number of equine trailers with dual-color
side sheets. These striking trailers promise to stop viewers
in their tracks at shows and events.
Among the other introductions at Congress
will be the “Euro” Featherlite that incorporates features
enjoyed by international horse owners into Featherlite’s distinctive
American platform. The Euro Featherlite is configured so that
horses can be loaded from the rear and unloaded through the
front. Mangers are engineered into both trailer sides for
extraordinary storage capacity. And a large “vending” door
is positioned in the front of the trailer. The door lifts
up on a horizontal hinge to allow more light and air to flood
into the horse area, creating a more compelling environment
for horses that are sometimes hard to load.
Among the other Featherlites to be on display
is a bumper pull living quarters with a front slide out and
a Medalist Series with polished Wave sides, frameless windows,
heavy-duty 2-inch double seal feed doors and LED strip lighting
inside the horse area among other special features.
“We have never introduced so many new trailer
configurations at Congress,” Lewis said. “We believe visitors
will enjoy seeing these--and the rest of the “big ideas” from
Featherlite.
“This is an exciting event for us. It showcases
the skill and knowledge of the people at Featherlite who actually
make these extraordinary trailers. And it demonstrates that
no other trailer manufacturer in the nation can do what Featherlite
does.”
