The Appaloosa Horse Club (ApHC) is proud to
join forces with Mississippi Blood Services (MBS) Wednesday,
June 24, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. during the 62nd National Appaloosa
Show to save lives in Mississippi!
An MBS Donor Coach will make a stop at the Mississippi State
Fairgrounds to accept blood donations in front of the 2009
Cowboy Way Trading Post, and the ApHC encourages members,
exhibitors, spectators and any interested party to take a
moment out of their busy schedules to contribute to this noble
cause. All donors will receive a free t-shirt!
All donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110
pounds and have a valid form of identification. MBS offers
a “mini physical” before each donation to ensure the donation
process is safe for the donor as well as the recipient. MBS
suggests that donors eat hours of donating and drink plenty
of fluids before and after making a donation.
