The Appaloosa Horse Club (ApHC)
is proud to once again host the Stallion Service Auction.
This year’s service auction is a two part auction which kicked
off with live in-person bidding at the 2011 World Championship
Appaloosa Show. The service auction re-opened for online bidding
on November 1 and will close on January 31, 2012.
The ApHC Stallion Service Auction allows breeders
to select a quality stallion and bid for their chance to win
a breeding to their chosen stallion. The resulting foal from
the breeding will be eligible for the World Show 2-year-old
incentive classes with huge payouts.
ApHC-registered stallions must hold a National
or World Champion title or sire thereof, or the ApHC-approved
outcross stallion must have a comparable championship or sire
thereof.
Stallion owners who committed a breeding to
the auction received the following benefits:
• A certificate entitling stallion owners to select from the
stallion’s offspring from the 2012 breeding season to nominate
for the 2015 2-year-old incentive classes. This certificate
must be submitted with the foal’s registration application.
• Stallions are marketed to loyal audience
of mare owners interested in breeding.
Mare owners who purchase a breeding through
the auction received the following benefits:
• A certificate entitling the resulting foal to be nominated
for the 2015 2-year-old incentive classes. This certificate
must be submitted with the foal’s registration application.
Payment of the stallion fee will be made to the ApHC by February
1, 2012. All ancillary fees (chute fee, shipping fee, etc)
are strictly between stallion owner and mare owner.
• A chance to breed to a high quality stallion
at a reduced price.
Return Services--If a mare
fails to produce a foal from this breeding, the foal from
a rebreed will be eligible for the following year’s World
Sale two year old incentive futurities (payment of the published
entry fee as per rules of the futurity must be made). In the
event 1) a mare fails to conceive, 2) of the death of a foal
at time of foaling or 3) a foal is born with a genetic defect
the owner will notify the ApHC as well as the stallion owner
with proper certification from a vet. Any arrangements for
rebreedings are strictly between the stallion owner and mare
owner.
Stallion breeding contracts are between stallion
owner and mare owner. There will be NO refunds of stallion
fees by the ApHC.
