APPALOOSA OPPORTUNITIES
— Be Switched!
The equine community responded to ABC Family’s
call for applicants for its teen reality TV show Switched!
in unprecedented numbers. More riders responded than any other group
Switched! had outreached for prior episodes, including
ice skaters and baton twirlers, says Jonathan Ruane of Evolution
Film & Tape, Inc., the Burbank, California-based producers of
Switched!. Producers
selected four equestrians for Switched!: Jessica Rowlett,
16, of Rockwall, Texas, a hunt seat rider; English- and western-event
competitors Sara Wainwright, 19, of Neptune Beach, Florida, and
Courtney Carr, 18, of Apache Junction, Arizona; and Weston Gracida,
17, of Wellington, Florida, a polo player.
Switched!
follows four days in the lives of two 16- to 20-year-olds who
have swapped lives — including homes, families, friends
and activities. It currently airs weekdays at 3 p.m. ET/PT on
the ABC Family Network, owned by the Walt Disney Company.
Producers say they’ll
keep promising former applicants on file for next season. If you’re
interested in applying for the show, visit www.switchedcasting.com,
where you’ll find information on casting periods and deadlines,
and downloadable applications. |
