Foundation
Pedigree Designation
Enrolling
in the Foundation Pedigree Designation is a great way to show
pride in your Appaloosa’s heritage and ensure its eligibility
in regional show FPD classes. The FPD classification on your horse’s
certificate of registration will provide proof of Appaloosa bloodlines
and important clues to breeding potential. By taking notice of
valuable foundation bloodlines, breeders have been able to select
desired qualities such as conformation, soundness, athletic ability
and Appaloosa characteristics.
Visit the ApHC Web site at www.appaloosa.com/downloadableforms.shtm
for enrollment forms, or apply when registering or transferring
horses. If you have questions or would like a free printout of
horses that may be eligible, contact the registration department
at (208) 882-5578 ext. 300 or registration@appaloosa.
