2009 Board of Director Elections

In 2009 ApHC members will elect representatives for Territory 1 – Zone B, Territory 2 – Zone B, Territory 3 – Zone B, Territory 4 – Zone B, Territory 5 – Zone A, Zone B, Territory 6 – Zone B, Territory 7 to the ApHC Board of Directors.

In order to be included on election ballots, interested members must file a petition with the ApHC on or before February 28, 2009. If you or if anyone you know is interested, please complete the Declaration Of Candidacy form and submit it to the followwing address no later than February 28, 2009.

Appaloosa Calendar of Events

List your upcoming regional show, trail ride, gift expo or horse sale on the Appaloosa Calendar of Events! This service allows an association to list their event and spread the word free of charge. It is also an excellent resource for anyone looking for an Appaloosa related event. Simply visit www.appaloosa.com and click on “Online Services”.

Appaloosa E-mail Service Now Available

ApHC members now have their very own Appaloosa Email address! This unique email community offers up-to-date ApHC notifications, an ApHC calendar, shared contacts, secure log-in and 1 GB of storage. The Appaloosa Email service has the familiar look of Microsoft Outlook, but is purely Appaloosa. It one of many ways to tell the world the Appaloosa is your breed of choice!

Each ApHC member has one FREE Appaloosa Email address, but if one Appaloosa Email is not enough, additional email service is available for $25 per address per year.

ApHC members can access their Appaloosa Email account by visiting www.appaloosaemail.com, using first and last name for user identification and their ApHC seven digit membership number as a temporary password.

Racing Reminder

To be eligible for year-end awards, be sure to send in your annual starters fee. The $10 fee is to be paid before a horse’s official race start.

Regional Club Membership Drive

The ApHC regional clubs can earn a $10 rebate* for each new ApHC adult membership** they acquire in 2009. Include the regional club charter number on 2009 ApHC membership forms or have your new member apply purchase their membership online to receive credit for the new ApHC adult membership** and it will list all of the great benefits and value of having an ApHC membership. *Rebate monies will be paid to eligible chartered regional clubs at the end of the 2009 calendar year. **new ApHC Adult membership definition: a person 18 years or older who has not had a membership with the Appaloosa Horse Club (ApHC) with in the previous two years.

Canadian Appaloosas Welcome

Appaloosa owners registered with the ApHCC have until July 31, 2009, to register their horses with the ApHC.

To receive an ApHC Certificate of Registration, submit an application with a photocopy of the front and back of the ApHCC Certificate of Registration, four current color photographs of the horse clearly showing both sides of the and a complete front and rear view, and $100 fee in U.S. funds.

ApHC registration classification and eligibility are subject to ApHC rules and regulations.

Stamp of a Champion

Show your pride in your Appaloosa by ordering the stamp of a champion! This distinctive enhancement is available only to National and World champions and reserve champions according to ApHC records. The stamp of a champion makes an excellent gift.

2009 Youth Directors Announced

The Appaloosa Youth Association is pleased to announce the results of the 2009 Youth Director elections. Each candidate must be between the ages of 14 and 17 and reside in the territory and zone that he/she wishes to represent. Directors will serve a two-year term.

AYA Directors participate in conference calls and gather at the Appaloosa Youth World show to discuss matters concerning the AYA. Each director is expected to participate in the discussions to bring forth suggestions and ideas from the constituents residing in their territory and zone.

Newly elected officials will be sworn in during the spring conference call. Date and time TBA.
