Appaloosa Horse Club, The International Breed Registry for Appaloosa Horses

Congratulations to the World's Best!

While only the best Appaloosas are invited to participate in the World Show, an even smaller group of horses can compete for the title of World's Best Appaloosa. In order to compete for this title, a horse must enter and compete in a minimum of three of five categories to be eligible.

We would like to congrautlate Shys Blue Boy, who was named the World's Best Appaloosa at the 2010 World Championship Appaloosa Show held in Fort Worth, Texas! During the week, Shys Blue Boy earned 20 points overall, competing in Hunter in Hand, Four & Older Geldings, Keyhole Race, Senior Western Riding, Senior Trail, Senior Hunter Under Saddle and Saddle Seat Pleasure.

The gelding is owned by Abby Bruno of Moreno Valley, California. Shys Blue Boy and Abby Bruno were awarded an aluminum horse trailer for one year's use compliments of Featherlite Manufacturing, a trophy saddle made by KO Trading, a custom sterling silver show halter from Kathy's Show Equipment, gift certificates from Dale Chavez Company and Smart Pak Equine Supplements, a check for $1,500, and a trophy from the Appaloosa Horse Club.

The 2010 Nutrena Iron Horse

The Nutrena Iron Horse award can be earned by any horse 2 years of age or older. To be eligible, a horse must enter and compete in four of five categories (Halter, English, Western, Games and Cattle) and must place in the top ten in three of these categories.

Congratulations to Shys Blue Boy for winning this prestigious award! He earned 49 total points competing in Hunter in Hand, Four & Older Geldings, Keyhole Race, Non-Pro Western Pleasure, Non-Pro Western Riding, Non-Pro Trail, Senior Western Riding, Senior Trail, Senior Western Pleasure, Senior Hunter Under Saddle, Saddle Seat Pleasure and Non-Pro Hunter in Hand, Geldings. Shys Blue Boy and Abby Bruno received $10,000 from Nutrena, the industry leader in advanced equine nutrition and the Official Feed of the Appaloosa Horse Club. They also took home a custom designed bronze sculpture entitled "Forged From Fire" created by Wally Shoop.

Tulsa—Here We Come!

The National Championship & Youth World Championship Shows will be held in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 2011 & 2012. The Tulsa Convention & Visitors Bureau has offered a financial incentive package to assist the ApHC with costs associated with producing the show in this venue. In order to sustain their level of financial support, we must certify the number of hotel rooms used in the city during the show. To do this, we have established a Housing Bureau that will be staffed by the Tulsa CVB to help show attendees select hotels and book rooms during the show. This way we can track hotel room useage in order to sustain the financial support offered by the Tulsa CVB.
Please check the ApHC website often. Information on how to book rooms online will be added to the National Show page within the next 2–3 weeks. A variety of properties, amenities and price points will be available.
Incentive money offered by the host city helps the ApHC pay show-related costs, and helps avoid passing some of those costs on to exhibitors. Please assist us in maintaining that financial support by booking rooms through the Housing Bureau. We appreciate your support!
