Trail & Distance : Saddle Log Program

Saddle Log Program
Disabled Rider/Driver Program

The Saddle Log and Disabled Rider/Driver Programs are a great way for you to earn awards for the time you spend with your Appaloosa. Whether you are an adult or youth, these programs recognize the personal achievements and benefits of riding or driving on a routine basis. Whether you participate in trail rides, train and compete in shows, ride in parades, perform ranch work, or enjoy pleasure riding/driving, each hour will count toward your lifetime achievement record and enable you to receive recognition and awards from the ApHC.

How to qualify:

You must be a current ApHC member. Any horses used in the program must be registered with the ApHC.

How to enroll:

Send the completed Saddle Log - Disabled Rider/Driver Application form and enrollment fee to the ApHC office.

  • For adults – there is a $15 annual enrollment fee that enables adults to participate for 12 months from the date the enrollment application is received by the ApHC, (ex. If your form arrives July 23, you are eligible to participate through July 22 of the following year.)
  • For youth – there is a one-time $20 enrollment fee that enables youth to participate from the date the application is received in the ApHC office until the youth is over the age of 18 as of January 1.
  • All horses used must be ApHC-registered Appaloosas. All registration designations are eligible. Participants may use multiple ApHC-registered Appaloosas and do not need to own the horses used in the program.
  • Logged hours must be recorded on official forms available from the ApHC.
  • Records will be permanently maintained in the customer’s file beginning in 2006.
